Black Turtle Bean Chili

1 qt. bag of black turtle chili beans
3 lbs. ground beef
28 oz. tomatoes, diced
2 14 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 tbsp chipotle chili powder
1/2 tbsp cumin
16 oz. green chilies, diced
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tsp salt OR salt to taste
2 large onions, diced and sautéed in 1 tbsp real butter
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro (add just before serving)

1. Soak beans in water for 2-4 hours, rinse and place in crock pot.

2. Fill crock pot with water, add spices, onions, and green chilies.

3. Cook till tender ~ 5 hours for higher elevation, less time for lower elevations.

4. Last hour of cooking time add rest of ingredients.

5. Serve with your favorite toppings
